Jakarta E-Prix 2022 Race Highlights: Indonesia First Time Ever Formula-E Racing

Soundandmachine.com (Jakarta) - For the first time in the season of Formula-E, racing in a new destination. Brand new Jakarta Circuit brings a lot of new challenges to the championship teams and drivers.  
 
Based on how this season has been unfolding so far, the unknowns create a lot of reasons to be excited about this circuit.  
 
Well known team like Mercedes EQ, Nissan E.dams, Porsche and Jaguar will compete in this race.
 
As it stands Mercedes EQ driver Stoffel Vandoorne leads the championship. Back to back podium in Berlin helping him to maintain top of the table.  
 
The gap behind him had been narrowed with only 16 points separating him from the second place Edoardo Mortara’s Rockit Venture Racing and Jean-Eric Vergne of DS Techeetah in third place.
 
The first corner of the race creates a top five position which led by Vergne. Also from DS Techeetah, Antonio Felix Da Costa in P2 and followed by Mitch Evans in P3.  
 
Meanwhile Mortara and Jake Dennis are behind them in P4 & P5. Two minutes of the race had already resulting incident that deployed safety car to the track. A wheel off the car and it was Oliver Rowland’s Mahindra Racing.
 
22 minutes after the start race back to back overtake battle between Evans and Vergne have got them the centre attraction of Jakarta E-Prix while Vergne had successfully maintain his first place.
 
7 minutes remaining until the race is over, Evans aggressively attack Vergne from many angles and many sides of the Jakarta Circuit.  
 
Evans finally took the lead of Jakarta E-Prix with the race time just 3 minutes remaining until its over. When it comes to the +1 lap after the time limit is over, the battle between the top 3 was quite intense.  
 
But finally, they cross the finish line and Evans declared as a first winner of Jakarta E-Prix. Jean-Eric Vergne came to second place with only 0,1% energy remaining.  
 
Joining the podium, Mortara get the third place. The championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne finishing the race in P5. Well done! (Febri)
