Soundandmachine.com (Gngju City) - After four years of silence, Korea Car Audio Network (K-CAN) finally came back in 2025. The event was held last Saturday, April 26th at US Hostel in Gongju City, Korea, and brought together car audio lovers from around the country for a day full of competition.

K-CAN first started in 2018 and used to happen twice a year. But from 2021 to 2024, it had to stop because of economic problems in Korea.

“The market was bad, but I didn’t want to wait anymore,” said David J. Baek (Joo Huem Baek), the organizer of the event. “So this year, I decided to bring it back.”

3 Categories, 14 Cars, and Lots of Excitement

Even though the event only lasted one day, 14 cars joined the competition. There were three main classes in this year’s K-CAN:

  • Consumer Extreme
  • Prosumer Extreme
  • King of Sound

David also hopes to add a new category called CAN PLAYLOUD, but he says it’s still difficult because of different culture and expectations in Korea.

Happy Participants, More Events Coming

David shared that many of the competitors were very happy with the event and asked for more like it in the future. “They enjoyed it and want more. So we plan to do K-CAN twice a year again starting this year,” he said.

He also plans to improve the experience for guests who come to watch. “During judging, guests don’t have much to do. So we want to make more fun activities for them too,” David added.

K-CAN is back and it's just getting started again. With more events planned and big support from the car audio community, 2025 could be the beginning of a louder, better future for car audio lovers in Korea. Yes, we CAN! (Febri)
