"This year, we received input from Thailand that CAN International is introducing a `budget` class, tailored to the teams present in each country. As it happens, I-CAN had already held qualifiers for the ASIA CAN Finals during the 2025-2026 season finale, but now this additional budget class has been included," explained Ibnu Haldun, President of I-CAN, to SoundandMachine.com at the event venue (9/17/2026).

These additional budget-based classes consist of the Consumer (5,000 Euro), Prosumer (10,000 Euro), and Professional (20,000 Euro) categories for Sound Quality (SQ). Meanwhile, for Sound Quality Loud (SQL)—also known as "CAN Playloud"—there is a Professional (12,000 Euro) class, as well as a Sound Pressure Level (SPL) 3000 Ampere category.

"Given the strong enthusiasm from those wishing to participate in the ASIA CAN Finals—specifically from the Jakarta and East Java contingents—we decided to hold qualifying rounds in both locations. We are gathering participants across these classes, and the judges will evaluate them in both Jakarta and Surabaya," said Ibnu.
In addition to Jakarta, a qualifying round already held in East Java on September 19, 2026, at Marvell City, Surabaya, due to sufficient interest.
"The enthusiasm remains high, so we are screening the teams that wish to compete in the ASIA CAN Finals. There are participants from Surabaya who want to join, even though the final competition will take place in the Serpong area—quite a distance from Surabaya. Since they are keen to participate, I’ve organized these qualifying rounds," Ibnu explained.

In total, there are 20 participants across these qualifying rounds: 16 from Jakarta and 4 from Surabaya.
The participants from Jakarta are competing in the SQ Consumer (5,000 Euro), Prosumer (10,000 Euro), and Professional (20,000 Euro) classes, while the participants from Surabaya are competing in the SQL Professional (12,000 Euro) class.
At the upcoming ASIA CAN Finals, these participants will compete against entrants from other Asian countries, including Taiwan, the Philippines, Hong Kong-China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore.
Participants from these other nations have already competed, and their scores have been recorded following evaluations by a panel of judges consisting of two individuals from Malaysia, one from Indonesia, and two from South Korea.
The winner will be determined based on the collected evaluations of the participants from the judges, and will be announced on October 21, 2026. (Joule)
